DirectOut collaboration conceives RME-crafted USB.IO audio interface for PRODIGY and MAVEN.A.

Plasa ’24 presents the first opportunity for UK pro-sound operators and system designers to meet the RME/DirectOut co-crafted USB.IO audio interface for the PRODIGY and MAVEN platforms that was launched at Infocomm in June,

A follow-up to the collaboration that created the RME Digiface Ravenna, this latest co-operation fulfils the long-sought addition of USB audio to DirectOut’s PRODIGY and newly launched MAVEN ranges.

USB.IO delivers 128 input channels and 128 outputs at 48kHz, but operates across the sample-rate spectrum from 44.1kHz to 192kHz. USB.IO also connects in Class Compliant mode or using RME’s driver set. This RME driver and software support for the USB.IO includes the highly regarded TotalMix FX application.

This new addition to the PRODIGY and MAVEN repertoire delivers low latency and truly plug’n’play connection of high-channel-count audio or DAW computers, for tasks such as recording, archiving, playout or virtual soundchecks. But perhaps the most significant benefit will be realised by Playback Techs connecting two or three redundant playback laptops to DirectOut’s renowned EARS™ redundancy switcher.

Deliveries of USB.IO are expected for September ‘24.
