Nixer Pro Audio, audio-over-IP monitoring specialists, reports an increasingly varied range of applications for its expanding selection of Dante and Ravenna audio monitoring tools.

Several reality TV productions now deploy multiple Nixer PD Dantes for all production team members. The all-in-one portable monitoring units are a breeze to operate and, when connected via a single PoE network cable, simple to relocate to wherever they’re needed. The PD Dante avoids the usual clutter of laptops and other monitoring devices in crowded production spaces.
THEATRE
The combination of audio monitoring and Dante network routing control of the PD Dante has proved a valuable tool in Theatre and other live entertainment systems during rigging, rehearsals and the run itself. The PD Dante, for example, is used to set missing connections, correct routing errors, adopt directorial changes, or patch-in backup or alternative devices from almost any location, without going near a computer or laptop.

OUTSIDE BROADCAST TRUCKS
Released summer ’21, the RL256 units, equipped with any combination of both Dante and/or ST2110-30 compatible Ravenna/AES67 are already finding their way into the audio racks of the latest IP based Outside Broadcast trucks.
The high-density 1U 256 channel monitoring capacity is proving particularly valuable in the new breed of compact trucks deployed for Remote Production; where the bulk of the production work is carried out at the broadcast centre.
The RL256’s clear and intuitive display is ideal for rapid source selection in demanding and fast-moving live sports and entertainment production.
CORPORATE AND BANKING AV
Having sold a selection of units to an International Bank in New York as part of their initial Dante AV infrastructure, they came back earlier this year to add further RD Dante units.
Meanwhile, over the Summer, an integrator in Moscow took delivery of 9 x RD Dantes as part of a major regeneration project by Russia’s largest bank.
STUDIO AND BROADCAST MASTER CONTROL
Able to monitor both Dante and Ravenna/AES67 audio sources, the RL256 has been used in the Master Control Room of a major Broadcaster to monitor incoming and outgoing AoIP connections.
In this large multichannel environment, the highly cost-effective 1RU RL256 presents hundreds of audio sources to individual operators that can each, using the simple-to-use touchscreen interface, quickly select audio from incoming streams for confidence and quality monitoring.
